Good leekage: For helpful tips, recipe ideas and some very cool leek preparation techniques, check out Brooklynguy's post. He's clever and handy and he's got an anonymous leek-savvy commenter who ain't nothing to sneeze at either.

The feast of Saint David is exactly five weeks away! So start choppin'.

Hey Marcus,

Thanks so much for the link and the generous and kind words. And by the way, the anonymous commenter was in fact my pal Deetrane, who appears so frequently as my companion in wine tasting.

Did you see Eric Asimov copy me in his post today, giving you a shout out on the Pour for your wine and food prowess!?

I swear he gets all his material from me yet he's the one who gets to jet to Europe every other month. Anyway, maybe you could consider becoming New York's male Alice Feiring...

By the way, I am glad someone else can appreciate white wine and steak. Sometimes I just feel like it (i.e. sometimes I make a sauce that is lighter, more herb-based, and as a result go with a bracing white). Steak does not need to be heavy all the time.

I actually hadn't checked, no, and thanks for letting me know. Pretty cool! You should discuss this with Senor Asimov - maybe you and he can work out some sort of deal. And who is Alice Feiring?!? I know that I should know this, but I don't...
