(I was getting tired of Languedoc-Roussillon anyway... NOT).

Joe, the Laroche site doesn't include the grapes for 3 Grappes but I believe they are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay et Marsanne, sorry no Pinot Grigio.

I had suggested on Kelly's site that Syrah is my desert island grape but now I sure wish I selected something more chillable.

Melon de Bourgogne, hands down!Marcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221624021529319291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18717316.post-74762305089041438152007-05-03T13:15:00.000-04:002007-05-03T13:15:00.000-04:00Hi Marcus. The new Cellier releases (i.e. today, and two weeks from now) feature "the americas".
I have not tried the Trois Grappes, but I was oogling it the other day. As for 'trapped on a desert island varietal', it would probably be too hot for a red, and the hollowed out coconut stemware would probably impart a rather sweet, woodsy character, so a simple Pinot Griggio might be best...Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07747056255576335926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18717316.post-4933354110611316192007-05-03T08:05:00.000-04:002007-05-03T08:05:00.000-04:00Hi Kelly,For a white varietal, I'd be tempted to a...Hi Kelly,

For a white varietal, I'd be tempted to agree with you. For instance, I could foresee myself having an entire summer filled with the Laroche in this post. It's a $14 Viognier to boot!Marcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221624021529319291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18717316.post-81268124392837293202007-05-02T18:49:00.000-04:002007-05-02T18:49:00.000-04:00Mmm, Viognier. If I were shipwrecked on a desert island with a few cases of just one varietal, this is what I'd pick.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04666374510867766190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18717316.post-7909140063247412552007-05-01T22:46:00.000-04:002007-05-01T22:46:00.000-04:00Hi Joe,I had an opening and actually could've gone...Hi Joe,

I had an opening and actually could've gone to the Midi Conseils today -- if I had gottenn my act together. Argentinian Amarone!? Does the upcoming Cellier have a South American focus?

Laroche is a real nice outfit. I have had a few of their varietals recently. The Viognier is my favourite above the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The white 3 Grappes is mighty fine too -- for under $11 it's practically a no-brainer. Haven't tried the Sauvignon Blanc... have you?Marcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221624021529319291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18717316.post-15500195521311822312007-05-01T22:05:00.000-04:002007-05-01T22:05:00.000-04:00Glad to see you liked the Laroche I suggested. Today's MidiConseils was a selection of upcoming Cellier releases - the Folie a Deux "Menage a Trois" (no joke) was excellent, as was the Evolution Lucky No. 9. The reds were interesting, but forgettable - Argentinian Cab that is not as good as the Casillero del Diablo, and an Amarone from Argentina by Masi - very intriguing, but nearly $30.
